…these landscapes are somehow isolated from their geographical environment and time context. They are then elevated to a symbolic and metaphorical level of general significance by means of the editing  process, which aims to  capture the myth and allegorical quality behind the volatile moment.

…I was just walking around the corner when I suddenly saw this boy staring at a spotlight built into the pavement. It looked like a perfect street meditation to me, almost like a spiritual exercise. I kept walking and suddenly encountered the completely unexpected: break-dancers in the streets of Quito, a city seemingly so conservative and marked by its colonial and catholic past.  Yes!  – there was some rebellious and courageous spirit that headed towards a different future.

…Still lives pose a great challenge as well as an opportunity to the photographer since they should add new life to something which is essentially not moving or dead. It even requires more creativeness, imagination and inspiration to produce something new and original, which surpasses the original model in meaning and expression and transcends it.
